Mixed Bunch Posy Punch Hello

STILL using up retired colors! I've been doing quite a lot of these kind of cards lately using retired colors of SU! card stock as the card base, along with DP from K&Company. Notice that I ran the DP through my Cuttlebug using a SU! Embossing Folder to add a little texture. If you click on the picture to get a closer look you will see that the DP actually cracked a little bit to let some of the white on the reverse show through. Kinda gives it a distressed look that I like. I set aside a pack of these to give away as a gift and used a few for myself. CARD STOCK: Gable Green (retired), DP (one of 50 designs in Kay&Company's "Pretty in Pink" 200DP Box), Whisper White. STAMPS: Mixed Bunch, Posy Punch. INK: Tangerine Tango, Real Red. OTHER: Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Blossom Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Elmer's CraftBond Foam Mounting Tape (WalMart)

An oldie but goodie!

This one is easy as can be, and packs a powerful color punch with minimal stamping. I used this design for Thanksgiving cards one year, and had a few leftovers, so I stuck "Thank You" on the front to use 'em up! CARD STOCK: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Sage Shadow (discontinued), Really Rust, Creamy Caramel (discontinued). STAMPS: Lovely As a Tree (came out in 2001 and still available!), Warmest Regards. INK: Chocolate Chip. OTHER: Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Elmer's CraftBond Foam Mounting Tape (WalMart).

Punched Posies Birthday

Yet another case from p. 134 of the 2010-2011 SU! IB&C. This one looked to be a 3x3 square in the catty, and again, I made it a quarter page card. I also didn't use the same stamp set, but rather used one I had in my collection. CARD STOCK: Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, Whisper White. STAMPS: Punched Posies, Curly Cute. OTHER: Paper Tearing Ruler (by Plaid, purchased at WalMart--similar to SU!'s "The Tearing Edge"), 5-Petal Flower Punch, Elmers CraftBond Foam Mounting Tape.

Punch Potpourri Anniversary

Another case from the 2010-2011 SU! IB&C. This time from p. 134. I freely admit that I rarely have an original idea! I usually at least use something I've seen somewhere as a jumping-off point! Again, this was a square card in the catty, but I made it the standard quarter page (A4) size landscape. Square cards are nice, but who wants to pay extra postage? (And FYI, it is simply not in my nature to put a square card in a rectangular envelope!) CARD STOCK: Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, Whisper White. STAMPS: Punch Potpourri, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Flourishes v2 (Rhonna Farrer for Autumn Leaves Stampology, purchased at WalMart). INK: Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede. OTHER: Pinking Hearts Border Punch (I use that a lot, don't I?), Full Heart Punch, Elmers CraftBond Foam Mounting Tape (WalMart).

Ships Ahoy Men's Birthday Card

I cased this card from one on p. 115 of the SU! 2010-2011 IB&C. I will often alter a layout or use different stamps than the ones shown in the catty to suit the stamps I have on hand. Such is the case (no pun intended) with this one! In the catty the card is square and uses a different stamp set. CARD: Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Confetti White. STAMPS: Ships Ahoy, Teeny Tiny Wishes. INK: Marina Mist. OTHER: Curly Label Punch, Hemp Twine, Paper Piercer. Elmer's CraftBond Foam Mounting Tape (WalMart)

Easy Events Girl's Birthday Card

I'm still using up discontinued SU! colors, so the base of this card is a discontinued color. The DP is NOT SU!, but just happens to match almost perfectly. The cute little cupcake image is watercolored by using a blender pen to pick up ink from the lids of Stampin' Pads. See the ribbon? It came from the gift wrap on a present I received! CARD STOCK: Pink Passion (discontinued), DP (one of 50 designs in K&Company's "Pretty in Pink" 200DP Box), Whisper White. INK: Jet Black Staz On, Sage Shadow (discontinued), So Saffron, Pretty in Pink. STAMPS: Easy Events. OTHER: Pinking Hearts Border Punch, So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (discontinued), Elmer's Craft Bond Foam Mounting Tape (WalMart).

Branch Out Valentine's Day Card

I saw the card linked at the bottom of this entry, and modified it just a bit for my Valentine's Day carrd this year. I used the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Pad to ink up the tree trunk and branches, then used a Stampin' Write Marker in Wild Wasabi to ink up the grass. The little hearts on the tree were made using Stampin' Write Markers in Regal Rose and Cherry Cobbler. You can easily make the hearts by simply "stamping" with the brush end of the marker! How? Your heart will be upside down . . . hold the marker at an angle with the point facing the top of your paper. Using light pressure (so as not to crush the brush tip) gently "roll" the brush tip from the point toward the base of the marker then lift the tip off the paper. The image you have will look like a flower petal. That is one half of your heart. Now just make another one overlapping the first one to make a heart. The edges of the main image were antiqued using Chocolate Chip ink on a sponge dauber. I also crimped the Chocolate Chip Dotted Scallop Ribbon to give it a little more dimension. I frequently use my computer printer to put words inside the card, and quoted Ephesians 3:17 & 18 from the New Living Translation, along with a greeting from our family. CARD STOCK: Confetti White, Chocolate Chip. STAMPS: Branch Out. INK: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose, Cherry Cobbler. OTHER: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Crimper. http://thinkingofinking.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/archives/1088
